PETER SØGAARD JØRGENSEN
Researching the macroecology and sustainability of global challenges associated with interactions between humans and other life forms - from individual microbes to the biosphere as a whole.
I'm a biologist of training researching the macroecology and sustainability of global challenges associated with interactions between humans and the biosphere, from the whole earth system to single species of microbes. I am currently a post-doctoral researcher at the Global Economic Dynamics and the Biosphere at the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences. In addition to research, I have a keen interest in international science-policy and science organisation.
This website combines both my research and organisational interests and mixes it up with pictures and social media content.
Resource specialists lead local community turnover associated with temperature – analysis of an 18-year full-seasonal record of moths and beetles in Journal of Animal Ecology.
I am currently starting up an independent post doctoral project at the Global Economic Dynamics and the Biosphere program at the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences. I have a keen interest in international science-policy and science organization. I recently completed my PhD on the macroecological response of biological populations to environmental change with Prof. Carsten Rahbek.
I have a big interest in the international organization of scientists and in science-policy. I co-founded the International Network of Next-Generation Ecologists (INNGE) in 2010 and currently serve as the chair of the governing board. I am also governing board member of the International Association for Ecology (INTECOL).
